摘要
center dot Food habits of Striped Owls Asio clamator in an urban area in southern Brazil The Striped Owl Asio clamator is a widely distributed species in the Neotropical region. Its geographical range extends from northern Mexico to central Argentina. In this study, we present data on the diet of A. clamator in the city of Pelotas in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, collected in the austral spring during the post-reproductive period of the species. Thirty-nine pellets were collected, and 46 prey items belonging to eight taxa were identified. The most important groups in the diet were mammals, which represented 73.9% of the items in the diet, and birds, which represented 10.85 % of the items consumed. In our study, an exotic species, Ra4us norvegicus, was the main prey consumed.
