Mathematical modelling of cholera disease with seasonality and human behavior change
DISCRETE AND CONTINUOUS DYNAMICAL SYSTEMS-SERIES B(2024)
摘要
. Cholera is an intestinal disease induced by V. cholerae. To explore the diverse impacts of spatial heterogeneity, vaccination, human behavior interventions and seasonality on the cholera epidemic, we propose a novel reaction-advection-diffusion equation model with a general boundary condition. We investigate threshold dynamics by the basic reproduction number R0 and study the transmission dynamics during the initial phase of a cholera outbreak. We find that human behavior interventions can effectively reduce the severity of epidemics. Moreover, the consideration of bacterial loss, coupled with the convection factors, has significant implications for the dynamics of disease transmission.
