Three-dimensional Biot consolidation solution of adjacent aquitards induced by regional drawdown of the water table

This study establishes a consolidation model of adjacent aquitards induced by drawdown in a limited area based on Biot three-dimensional consolidation theory in a rectangular coordinate system. Through the Fourier-Laplace integral transform, decoupling transform, differential equation group and matrix theory, the analytical solutions of the deformation and internal excess pore-water pressure of the aquitard in three-dimensional space in the integral transform domain are given, and the solutions in the physical domain are obtained by the FourierLaplace inverse transform. By comparing the model degradation with the existing research solutions, the correctness of the manuscript calculation method is verified. Finally, the effects of the permeability anisotropy, drawdown area shape, extent of drawdown and Poisson's ratio on the consolidation deformation of the aquitard are explored through detailed example analysis. The results showed that the permeability anisotropy, Poisson's ratio and extent of drawdown strongly influence the settlement, and the shape of the drawdown area should also be considered. In this study we further improve upon the Biot consolidation problem of three-dimensional drawdown in a rectangular coordinate system.
