Power analysis of an optical interconnected FPGA cluster for roadside units.

摘要
This paper examines the advantage of error-free POF (Plastic Optical Fiber) for distributed FPGA clusters provided at RSUs (Road Side Units). The evaluation with an actual FPGA board with an optical interface revealed that the power consumption was reduced by approximately 3% by omitting the CRC. Also, the energy consumption was improved by approximately 9.47% when the frame size was 64B.
