Simulation-Based Analysis of L-Shaped RFID Tags for Enhanced Performance

Chipless RFID technology has recently gained significant importance due to its wide range of applications. This paper presents a novel compact chipless Radio Frequency IDentification (RFID) tag with orientation insensitivity. The tag utilizes an optimized L-shape resonator-based structure, designed to exhibit spectral signatures regardless of orientation. The proposed RFID tag operates within the 5 GHz to 10.5 GHz frequency band. IT ensures orientation independence and polarization insensitivity, making it suitable for diverse IoT scenarios. To validate the concept, we simulated the design with different orientations using the CST (Computer Simulation Technology). Through our findings, we offer an effective and robust L-shaped RFID tag for practical applications in real-world scenarios.
