摘要
The evolution of wireless standards has introduced new challenges for the platforms and compute engines used to implement them. The complexity of software development is often overlooked as the purpose-specific platforms evolve. We investigate the challenges in RAN software development and ways this process can benefit from standardization. Arguing that graph models are the best way to represent signal processing flows, we drive their implementation using the current developments in the O-RAN standards. We present how our contributions to standards help achieve a portable physical layer implementation while democratizing the innovation in wireless infrastructure.
