A Low-Profile, Broadband Metasurface Antenna Loaded with Nonuniform Structure

In order to meet the user's demand for miniaturization and high communication quality of mobile terminal equipment, a design method of low profile, broadband metasurface antenna is proposed. In this design, more current loops are introduced into the inverted-F multi-branch excitation structure through probe feeding to generate more excitation modes synchronously. At the same time, a nonuniform metasurface parasitic structure is introduced above and below the inverted-F excitation structure, which can control the resonant frequency and realize broadband radiation, while ensuring the miniaturization and low profile of the antenna. The simulation results show that the -6 dB bandwidth of the antenna is $\mathbf{7.01}\sim \mathbf{8.46}\ \mathbf{GHz}$ , and the electrical size of the antenna is $\mathbf{0.308}\boldsymbol{\lambda}_{\mathbf{0}} \times \mathbf{0.308} \boldsymbol{\lambda}_\mathbf{0} \times \mathbf{0.040} \boldsymbol{\lambda}_\mathbf{0}$ .
