Recession constants are non-stationary: Impacts of multi-annual drought on catchment recession behaviour and storage dynamics

•We studied changes in recession behaviour of drought-affected catchments.•We detected steeper post-drought recessions in catchments impacted by the drought.•We attributed changes to disconnection of storage and increased transmission losses.
