摘要
Syndrome of inappropriate antidiuretic hormone (SIADH) is a condition due to the uncontrolled release of the antidi-uretic hormone. It originates from the pituitary gland or other sources outside the pituitary or due to the continuous action of antidiuretic hormone on the vasopressin receptor. Tuberculosis can cause SIADH, depending on several hypotheses regarding the pathomechanism of SIADH (hypoxemia, injury to baroreceptors, shift in osmoregulation during active tuberculosis, and ectopic arginine vasopressin production). In this study we reported the experience of a patient with recurrent hyponatremia, although subjected to hypertonic saline correction. In conclusion, fluid restriction and diuretics turned out to be effective; however, it is important to emphasize that SIADH, as primary etiology, should be treated in order to avoid recurrence.
