The cat litter mummy

This article presents the case of a 90-year-old female corpse mummified with cat litter. The woman lived with her unemployed son. After her death, the son hid her passing from the authorities and preserved her body in the basement using cat litter. More than 1 year later, the mummified body was discovered. The report describes the recovery of the body, imaging procedures, the autopsy, histological findings, toxicology results and the legal evaluation of the case.
