Analysis of B^0_(s)→μ^+μ^- decays at the LHC

This article reviews the most recent measurements of B_(s)^0→μ^+μ^- decay properties at the LHC, which are the most precise to date. The measurements of the branching fraction and effective lifetime of the B_s^0→μ^+μ^- decay by the ATLAS, CMS and LHCb collaborations, as well as the search for B^0→μ^+μ^- decays are summarised with a focus on the experimental challenges. Furthermore prospects are given for these measurements and new observables that become accessible with the foreseen amounts of data by the end of the LHC.
