摘要
Recently, the repertoire of CRISPR/Cas-based techniques has been expanded with CRISPR-Kill, enabling tissue engineering through targeted genome elimination. Through SaCas9-mediated induction of multiple double-strand breaks in evolutionary conserved repetitive genomic regions, targeted cell death can be achieved. To exert temporal control over cell ablation, a chemically inducible system has been implemented in Arabidopsis thaliana, providing a valuable tool for the investigation of the developmental plasticity of specific cell types.
