Abstract
This poster presents the initial steps of an investigation into computing education at the Ph.D. level, specifically focused on CER students. We have identified a sample starting with the ICER doctoral consortia (2018-2022) and snowballing with help from senior researchers in the ICER and Koli Program Committees. We have sent targeted surveys exploring students’ background studies, possible teaching or research experience, and choice of field. We report initial findings from 39 Ph.D. students and recent graduates.
