Modern day IT pervades all areas of our daily life-from daily work to societal tasks (community activities) to our private concerns. All of these require management of information across completely different domains of knowledge, variety of devices, locations, and timing constraints. For example, safe and effective management of natural disasters (earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, tsunamis, and flooding) has completely different requirements than managing a national economy or the profitability of a business.
