Optimal configuration method of energy storage in provincial power system based on multi-type flexible resource scheduling priority

In order to achieve the 'carbon peaking and carbon neutrality' goals, we must vigorously develop renewable energy power generation. The output of wind turbines and photovoltaics is intermittent, variable and uncertain, and must be coordinated with flexible resources such as energy storage to supply power smoothly. Whereas, energy storage devices have sequential characteristics and need to be periodically optimized. In this paper, an optimal configuration method of energy storage for provincial power system is proposed. Its characteristic is to carry out operation simulation based on the scheduling priority of various flexible resources, and obtain the timing scheduling scheme of various flexible resources quickly, and then determine the optimal configuration capacity of energy storage equipment according to the key indicators such as power supply cost, power supply adequacy and new energy utilization rate. An example analysis of a provincial system is carried out by using the method in this paper, which proves the effectiveness of the method in this paper.
