摘要
This paper presents the design of a deep-water velocity monitoring sensor network from a practical point of view. Using a previously deployed underwater wireless sensor network based on ISO 11784/11785 standard, the target of this research is determining the maximum possible acquisition and transmission parameters, such as sampling frequency, accuracy and resolution when new tilt current meters are attached. Each mooring line of the infrastructure has its own reader, and each deployed instrument operates as a tag. The non-linear water velocity function of the tilt is analyzed in detail. As result, an implementation of an on board piece-wise linear function for each tilt current meter is presented. A practical strategy is proposed to increase the number of transmitted samples five times more than the traditional tilt-based system. The implemented solution allows a sampling frequency of 51 Hz, instead of the original 10.2 Hz, assuming an error lower than 0.5 cm/s.
