Adaptive Digital Beamforming Algorithm for Monopulse Angle Measurement Based on Orthogonal Hierarchical Processing

In this paper, an orthogonal hierarchical processing adaptive digital beamforming algorithm (OHP-ADBF) is designed to solve the problem of monopulse measurement of angle in the face of main and side lobe jamming. The algorithm divides the rectangular array into orthogonal azimuth dimension and elevation dimension, and performs hierarchical processing on the two dimensions respectively. In the first stage, the MUSIC algorithm is used to estimate and judge the direction of the main lobe jamming, and the blocking matrix is used to filter it out. Then, the sum and difference beam patterns are jointly constrained by the pointing and angle discrimination curves to complete the angle measurement dimension side lobe jamming suppression and beamforming processing. In the second stage, the jamming remaining on the formed beam in the first stage is suppressed. Through orthogonal hierarchical processing, the joint suppression of main and side lobes is realized, and the linearity of angle discrimination curve of single pulse angle measurement is maintained. The simulation results show that the algorithm can better suppress the main and side lobe jamming, and make it have high precision single pulse angle measurement performance.
