Research on On-line Monitoring Technology of Partial Electro-discharge in Synchronous Condenser

This article proposes online monitoring methods, auxiliary methods, and analysis methods according to the technical requirements of partial discharge online monitoring of synchronous condensers. Monitoring methods include acoustic measurement, optical measurement, and chemical detection. Partial discharge signal analysis mainly includes three aspects: pulse type identification, discharge source positioning, and discharge quantity calibration, providing the generation mechanism and removal technology of interference and noise in partial discharge monitoring, mainly focusing on anti-interference in filtering and frequency domain. A partial discharge online monitoring system has been designed, consisting of coupling capacitors, General Purpose Control system pulse polarity sensors, and monitoring hosts. Finally, the practical application effect of the developed partial discharge online monitoring system is verified. The partial discharge signal of the condenser is obtained, and 2D phase decomposition, 3D phase decomposition, polarity phase decomposition, and pulse height distribution calculation are performed on the partial discharge signal. The analytical results are consistent with theoretical analysis, which proves the effectiveness of the partial discharge monitoring system.
