Efficacy and safety evaluation of Ginkgo biloba dropping pill (GBDP) on stable angina pectoris complicated with depression: a placebo-controlled, randomized, double-blind, multicenter study

•This prospective, randomized, and double-blind trial represents the first randomized controlled clinical study in China aimed at evaluating the efficacy of GBDP as an adjuvant therapy for individuals with concurrent SAP and depression.•Provide Evidence-based medicine evidence for the application of "heart brain treatment" in Traditional Chinese medicine and "psychocardiologye" in modern medicine.•This study indicates that GBDP has a favorable effect on angina pectoris in SAP patients with depression, and shows promising therapeutic potential in improving depression.
