A case report of Tangier disease presents with acute sensorimotor polyneuropathy and its treatment approach

•Tangier disease results in accumulation of cholesterol esters.•It could cause neuropathy by demyelination of nerves secondary to cholesterol deposition in Schwann cells.•Miglustat is a glycosphingolipid synthesis inhibitor.•Miglustat treatment could be effective for neuropathies of Tangier disease.
