Intensive Exposure Therapy for an Individual With History of Self-Harm and Suicidality

•Case report of an adolescent with comorbid borderline personality disorder features, nonsuicidal self-injury, suicidality, and OCD.•Discusses ways to combine dialectical behavioral therapy with exposure and response prevention for best treatment effects.•Anxiety and mood surveys throughout exposure therapy and posttreatment are presented.•Challenges, successes and directions for future clinical research are discussed.
