Screening and identifying natural products with SARS-CoV-2 infection inhibitory activity from medicinal fungi

Employing a comprehensive workflow that incorporates both cellular and molecular viral infection inhibition assays, we screened 167 extracts derived from medicinal fungi for their potential anti-COVID-19 (coronavirus disease 2019) activity. The active compounds, identified as polysaccharides, were characterized using an array of molecular separation techniques and mass spectrometry
