Design of PUF Circuit Based on Charge Leakage of Cascade Dynamic Gate.

This paper proposed a novel physical unclonable function (PUF) circuit based on dynamic logic. In this scheme, two cascade inverter base on dynamic logic are used for generating entropy source voltage. Based on the principle of dynamic gate cascade charge leakage, the performance of the middle node of the dynamic gate will affect the output voltage of the rear dynamic gate. A voltage sensitive amplifier based on cross-coupling structure is used to compare the two entropy source voltages and generate a output response. The proposed PUF design in TSMC 65-nm process, and the PUF cell’s layout area is 1.5 μm×2.3 μm. The performance of the PUF circuit was analyzed through Monte Carlo simulation under different operating conditions. The experimental results show that the proposed PUF circuit has excellent randomness(50.03%) and stability(8.2%), has the potential to be applied in the field of key generation and device authentication.
