Cognitive Reconfigurable Intelligent Surface (RIS) for mmWave Integrated Sensing and Communication

摘要
This paper proposes a concept of a cognitive reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS) for self-sustainable wireless communication system. Reconfigurable beamforming surfaces are integrated with lens-based beamformer for cognitive radios, enabling feedback loop for managing dynamic propagation channel links. Sustainable operations of the proposed cognitive RIS are experimentally validated by indoor and outdoor link-level measurements. This paradigm shifting investigation can be a promising solution for constructing energy-efficient green communications on future wireless networks.
