150 GHz Embedded Patch Antenna With Radiation From the Substrate Edge for Antenna-in-Package

摘要

In recent years, multi-element antenna modules consisting of multiple antenna elements and RF front ends have been considered to satisfy high-gain, wide-angle antennas in the subterahertz band. This paper discusses a loop-shaped patch antenna with radiation from the substrate edge. The antenna is a substrate-embedded antenna made of copper foil and vias, and good antenna characteristics with a frontal gain of 8.4 dBi and a half angle of 62 degrees at 157.75 GHz are achieved by simulation.
