摘要
Excited, nonyrast states in $^{162}\mathrm{Yb}$ were populated through ${\ensuremath{\beta}}^{+}∕ϵ$ decay and studied through off-beam, $\ensuremath{\beta}$-delayed $\ensuremath{\gamma}$-ray spectroscopy at the Yale moving tape collector. New coincidence data provided evidence for a substantial revision of the previous level scheme and the elimination of a previously reported first excited ${0}^{+}$ state. The revised level scheme of $^{162}\mathrm{Yb}$ is compared to the predictions of the X(5) critical point symmetry. Good agreement is obtained for most energies while significant discrepancies exist with the current values of intraband $B(E2)$ values.
