摘要
•Nitrogen-doped carbon quantum dots (NCQDs) have active surface energy states.•Spin-coated NCQDs/ZnO hybrid thin films exhibit higher transparency (>95%).•NCQDs show emission at 439 nm and also transfer energy to ZnO in hybrid thin films.•NCQDs absorb energy (365 nm) and transfer photogenerated charge carriers to ZnO.•NCQDs/ZnO ratio [%(w/v)] of 1.2 × 10–3 showed highest photodetector performances.
