摘要
Lithium-ion (Ii-ion) batteries are crucial agents of energy sustainability. The aging of batteries in real use is an important open topic; numerous studies are being conducted in laboratories using isolated battery cells to better understand the aging process. The additional charge and discharge cycles required to provide battery services will reduce battery life. For this reason, it is of paramount importance to study and develop reliable models of the batteries that take into account the aging phenomena that affect the reliability of the Li-ion cells in order to evaluate the best charge/discharge strategy and economic returns. To this end, this work focuses on a simulation of battery aging effects. The studied demonstration shows how aging affects the performance of a 12 V, 40 Ah lithium-ion battery model. The battery is subjected to 3600 hours of charge-discharge cycles at a temperature of 25 degrees Celsius, as well as different depths of discharge (DOD) and discharge rates. A simulation model was developed, tested, and effectively analyzed considering several operating conditions in a MATLAB/Simulink environment.
