Minisci-Type Carbamoylation of Azauracils with Oxamic Acids

A Minisci-type carbamoylation of azauracils was developed to afford 6-carbamoyl azauracils in yields up to 94 %. In this transformation, oxamic acids were employed as the carbamoyl radical sources under metal-free conditions. It features high atom economy, good functional group compatibility and convenient operation. 6-Carbamoyl azauracils are found in numerous bioactive molecules. In this paper, a Minisci-type decarboxylative C6-carbamoylation of azauracils with oxamic acids as the carbamoyl radical sources is developed under metal-free conditions, providing a practical approach toward functionalized 6-carbamoyl azauracils in 52-94% yield. It features with high atom economy, good functional group compatibility and convenient operation. image
