Growth and characterization of novel piezo-/ferroelectric single crystals from the PSN-BS-PT ternary system

•Novel single crystals of a ternary complex perovskite system are grown by flux.•Domain structure and phase transition are examined by polarized light microscopy.•The crystals show a piezoelectric coefficient (d33) of 478 pC/N with a TC = 380 °C,•and a remanent polarization of 17 µC/cm2 with a high coercive field of 68 kV/cm.
