Modeling Glacio-Hydrological Processes in the Himalayas: A Review and Future Perspectives

•We find a publication growth in glacio-hydrology modeling in Himalayas since 2000s.•Large uncertainties exist in the simulated runoff components in the Himalaya basins.•Glacier melt peak time varies at Himalaya sub-basins under different CMIP scenarios.•Precipitation error is the major source of uncertainty for Himalaya basin modeling.•Glacio-hydrology models need to integrate glacier, snow, and permafrost processes.
