This paper presents the design of an antimetal RFID tag antenna optimized for long-range applications. The antenna is compact with dimensions of 35 mm × 35 mm × 2 mm and operates at 918 MHz. It is powered through coplanar coupling, resulting in a gain of 2.5 dB. To optimize performance, a simple equivalent circuit model is proposed, which is essentially the same as the simulated impedance of the antenna. Manufactured using flexible printing technology, the antenna is mounted on a Teflon dielectric substrate. With a measured read range surpassing 12 meters, this design has proven to be ideal for extended-distance applications.
