A Miniaturized Tile-Type T/R Module with Four Channels in Ka Band

A miniaturized tile-type T/R module with four channels in Ka band is put forward in this paper. The T/R module consists of 5-bit attenuator, 5-bit phase shifter, T/R amplifiers and control circuit with a size of 8.5mm × 8.5mm, using an amplitude/phase multi-function chip and four T/R multi-function chips. In the receiving mode, the 32-38GHz results in a gain of 25 dB. In the transmitting mode, the output power is 27 dBm for the 6 GHz bandwidth. The measured results show that the tile-type T/R module in Ka band has properties of wide band, miniaturized and high integrated. It has potential for low profile and miniaturized phased control system.
