werecarriedout bydirectink writing (DIW)to buildaninter-layered "interlocked"interface.Denseinter-layered "interlocked"laminated TC4-TiB/TC4 compositesreinforced by TiB nanowires were obtained by combining DIW with fast hotpressed sintering (FHPS),and their mechanicalproperties were investigated.Theresultsshow thattheinter-layered "interlocked"structureissuccessfullyretained aftersintering;theinter-layered "interlocked"laminated TC4-TiB/TC4compositespreparedbyDIW haveanimprovedstrength (by9.1% to1206 MPa)whilepreservingthehightoughnesscompareto the unconfigured 0.4% TiB/TC4 composites with uniform distribution ofthereinforcement.The analysisshowsthattheinter-layered "interlocked"interfacedeflectsthecrackssignificantly,hinders thecrackexpansion,andimprovestheoverallmaterialtoughness,whichprovidesideasforforming complexandtoughcompositecomponents.
