摘要
Mn2+ -activated Ba2MgWO6 phosphors are prepared via the high-temperature solid-state method. The synthesized phosphors have been characterized by various techniques such as X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR), thermogravimetry and differential thermal analysis (TG-DTA) and photoluminescence (PL), etc. The PL excitation and emission spectra of the synthesized phosphors show interesting results. The excitation spectrum showed a broad excitation band in the range of 300 nm to 400 nm, covering the entire ultraviolet (UV) and near UV regions. This shows its suitability for lighting applications. Under 380 nm excitation, the emission spectrum emits a broad emission band in the range of 400 nm to 650 nm. The center of the emission band is approximately 510 nm and the optimum emission intensity is observed for 1.5 mol% concentration of Mn2+ ions. At concentrations higher than 1.5 mol% Mn2+ the emission intensity decreases due to a concentration quenching mechanism of the luminescence. Furthermore, the synthesized phosphor exhibits extreme thermal stability. The investigation indicates that our prepared samples may have potential applications in WLEDs.
