摘要

•A novel Bi2Sn2O7/Bi5O7I S-scheme heterojunction was successfully synthesized.•Catalyst showed a superior photocatalytic activity in the removal of 2,4-DNPH.•h+ and ·O2– were the main active species in photocatalytic system.•The mechanism was studied deeply by experiment and DFT calculation.
