HIF-1α-mediated metabolic reprogramming plays an emerging role in the regulation of early periodontal inflammation, but the underlying mechanisms remain to be fully understood. We report that Ca2+ activates HIF-1α transcription through the STAT3 signaling axis and stabilises HIF-1α via the ET-1 pathway during E. Coli LPS stimulation.
