Mechatronics Design and Implementation of a Smart Plastic Injection Moulding Machine

摘要
The injection moulding process is extensively employed within the manufacturing sector to facilitate the largescale production of plastic components. It plays a crucial role in several industries, including the automobile, aerospace, electronics, and consumer products industries. This paper aims to discuss the mechatronic design and implementation of a smart injection moulding machine that incorporates cuttingedge technologies and smart manufacturing principles based on the pillars of Industry 4.0. By deploying smart technologies such as sensors, actuators, intelligent control, and network-connected information systems, the injection moulding machine becomes capable of mass production of high-quality products with complex shapes and consistent dimensions. Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness and practicality of the proposed design, making it a promising solution for small-scale manufacturing operations.
