Research on the Surface Electric Field of the Anti-Galloping Device of UHV Double-circuit Transmission Lines on Same Tower

The anti-galloping devices are widely applied on the lines to reduce line galloping. In the design process of anti-galloping devices, more attention is paid to anti-galloping performance, while less attention is paid to corona performance. In this paper, a three-dimensional model of the anti-galloping device with the transmission lines is established. The surface electric field of the anti-galloping device is calculated by the finite element method. The influences of the arm length and the swing hammer radius of the anti-galloping device on the surface electric field are calculated and analyzed. The variation relationship between the structure parameters and the surface electric field of the anti-galloping device is obtained. Then the calculation formula of the surface electric field of the anti-galloping device is proposed. An anti-galloping devices with the optimized parameters calculated by the formula is developed. The corona test of the optimized anti-galloping hung on the ultra-high voltage AC test lines have been carried out, the experimental results verified that the calculation method is effectiveness. The conclusions can provide technical support and reference for the anti-corona design of anti-galloping devices for ultra-high voltage AC projects.
