摘要

•Crystal plane regulative hydrogen spillover strategy was developed on Al2O3.•Ni/Al2O3 (111) exhibited a high turnover number in reductive amination.•Hydrogen migration prevented Ni sites from hydrogen poisoning.•Adsorption and activation of NH3 for reductive amination was enhanced.•Ammonolysis of intermediate Schiff-base to primary amine was accelerated.
