Rising global burden of cancer attributable to high BMI from 2010 to 2019

•From 2010 to 2019, there was a 35 % increase in deaths from cancers due to high BMI.•Similarly, there was a 34 % increase in disability-adjusted life-years.•The greatest number of deaths from cancer due to high BMI occurred in Europe.•Liver cancer is the fastest-growing cause of cancer mortality due to high BMI.
