Hydrothermally synthesized double layered ferrite and its CNTs anchored nanoarchitecture: A novel water splitting electrocatalyst

•Double-layer ferritie and its nancomposite with CNT have been synthesized.•The structure and morphology of the materails were examined.•The electrochemical aptitude of the materials was examined via CV and EIS.•NF-LD/CNTs-based electrocatalyst showed good potency for OE and HE reactions.
