Coupled hygro-thermo-mechanical peridynamic model for concrete fracture analysis at high temperature

A coupled hygro-thermo-mechanical peridynamic model is proposed for concrete at high temperatures in this study. The model can take into account the influences including water vapour diffusion, water vapour flow and liquid water flow. A multi-rate forward explicit integration algorithm is used for obtaining the numerical solution of the multi-physics system. The prediction of the model is validated in terms of temperature distribution, water vapour pressure distribution and damage level distribution by using two numerical examples; one is the concrete block under thermal radiation and the other is the heated concrete column. Numerical results also illustrate the performance of the multi-field peridynamic model in describing the hygro-thermo-mechanical interaction and the spalling evolution of heated concrete.
