D-STATCOM Load Compensation Algorithm in a Contaminated Supply Network Based on Instantaneous Reactive Power

An accurate identification of the current required through the system is crucial for adequate compensation under tainted source voltage conditions when a device known as a distribution static compensator (D-STATCOM) is employed for the compensation of an applied load. Several control methods have been published thus far. This research introduces and imitates an advanced instantaneous reactive power-based control method, which addresses the flaws in the existing algorithms by eliminating the mistakes that arise from using the traditional algorithms. Both strategies were tested in MATLAB/Simulink simulations. The simulation and theoretical result demonstrate how well the suggested method works with distorted and asymmetrical power supplies. Hence, it is proven that control algorithms are accurate and beneficial. The purposed algorithm can detect harmonic and reactive component of load current if thesupply voltage is deformed. We discussed and defined the terms harmonics, imaginary component of current, instantaneous imaginary component of power, compensation current, and MATLAB simulation in this paper.
