Pyrazolopyrimidine and 4˗pyrimidylpyrazolone analogues as promising novel sulfa drugs: Design, synthesis, antibacterial, antibiofilm, antiquorum agents, computational details and molecular docking studies

•Simple and efficient methods for synthesized a series of N-arylsulfonamide pyrazolopyrimidines and 4˗pyrimidylpyrazolones was reported.•The novel synthesized compounds were verified in vitro as antibacterial, antibiofilm and antiquorum agents.•DFT calculations were used to establish the structures and the proposed mechanisms of the synthesized compounds.•Molecular docking studies reveals that the investigated compounds are suitable candidates for the treatment of P. aeruginosa infections.
