摘要
Seafloor information is foundational for ocean navigation, scientific research, exploration, resource and ecosystem protection but thus far only 20% of the seafloor is mapped. Seabed 2030's goal of producing a global bathymetry digital data set and map with uniform and high-density coverage would benefit almost every stakeholder related to ocean, climate and the blue economy. Reaching Seabed 2030's goal of a global seafloor map, requires technology innovation, especially in robotics, energy and automation.
