Beamforming Design and Analysis of Space Shift Keying for RIS-Assisted Two-Way Communication Systems

In the context of sixth generation (6G) wireless communications, this work considers aspects related to beamforming design in a reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS)-aided two-way communication scenario using space shift keying (SSK) modulation. This challenging scenario combines different key technologies with the potential to improve the overall communication rate and efficiency. For that purpose, suitable alternatives for the receive processing and the determination of the RIS reflection coefficients are formulated and analyzed. The results illustrate a comparative performance of the different algorithms.
