摘要
To increase the sustainability of transport infrastructures, the consumption reduction of non-renewable resources must be achieved, as well as the maximization of recyclable materials' use. The construction and demolition waste, often discharged in landfills, can be processed to obtain good quality recycled aggregates (RA). Also, the coconut husk, a waste from food industry processing, can be used to get coconut fiber (CF). These materials can be employed to construct cement bound granular mixtures (CBGM), and be applied as layers of road pavements. In this work, the flexural strength of CBGM with RA and CF reinforcement was evaluated and compared with a conventional CBGM with natural aggregate (NA). The results showed that the CBGM with RA had a similar performance to the CBGM with NA. Additionally, the CF effectively reinforced the integrity of the CBGM, indicating enhanced durability.
