Correction: Structural and optical studies on Ti4+ and Mg2+-substituted strontium ferrite nanoparticles for enhancing visible-light-driven photocatalytic and antimicrobial activity
Journal of Materials Research(2024)
摘要
The effect of Ti4+ and Mg2+ substitution on the structural, optical, photocatalytic, and antimicrobial activity of strontium ferrite NPs was comprehensively studied. The ratio of Ti4+ and Mg2+ ions was varied in Sr0.4Ti0.6-xMgxFe2O4+δ (x = 0.0–0.6) NPs. XRD patterns confirmed the presence of single-phase ferrite NPs. Substitution significantly increased the surface area of ferrite NPs from 55.1 to 90.7 m2g−1 and reduced the value of saturation magnetization from 28.1 to 14.3 emu g−1. Band gap decreased from 2.38 to 2.15 eV. Sr0.4Ti0.4Mg0.2Fe2O4.4 NPs displayed maximum photocatalytic and antimicrobial activity, with the degradation and inactivation efficiency ranging from 90.5 to 92.8
