0 INTRODUCTION The classification of the rock mass quality is an important research topic within geological engineering and rock mechan-ics,because it is a powerful tool to perform rock mass stability analysis in rock engineering practices(Babacan et al.,2014;Singh et al.,1992).Intensive studies have been conducted to develop the quantitative methods for determining the rock mass quality,including the rock mass rating(RMR)(Bien-iawski,2009),slope mass rating(SMR)(Romana et al.,2015),quality(Q)system classification(Barton and Grimstad,1995),basic quality(BQ)system classification(Cui et al.,2021),etc.Among these approaches,rock mass integrity plays a pivotal role in determining the rock mass quality,which should be con-sidered in the rock mass quality classification(Aydan et al.,2014).
